Theme of World Cancer Day 2014:

This year, the focus was on the revised Target5 of the World Cancer Declaration ‘Reduce stigma and dispel myths about cancer’ under the tagline “Debunk the myths”. The myths are

Myth 1: We don’t need to talk about cancer
Myth 2: There are no signs or symptoms of cancer
Myth 3: There is nothing I can do about cancer
Myth 4: I don’t have the right to cancer care

Date of activities: Activities to commemorate the WCD 2014 were conducted on the 4th of February 2014

Venue: Community outreach activities were carried out within the Central Business District, Abuja and Utako market in Abuja. The social media campaign was targeted at all visitors of the IHVN website and the SOCRON websites.
